An evolved man, but still a kid at heart. Cynicism, as hard as it tries, has not yet trumped hope and enthusiasm. I am passionate and curious about the world around me. I start each day with two newspapers (NY & LA Times) and generally end the day with whatever book I'm reading at the moment. Or David Letterman, depending on how tired I am.
There are many things that interest me, starting with music of all kinds, which I've always loved. Other passions include working out, sports, food, wine, travel, politics and and just trying to understand what makes people tick.
My Ideal Person:
Intelligence and an open mind are the great turn-ons. Yet while conceding that beauty does in fact lie within, it will require a strong physical reaction to get me to that point. I admire strong, independent women with eclectic interests, but not to the point of being narcissistic or controlling.
Looking for the perfect intersection of challenge and comfort. Challenge needs to come in the form of high standards, great aspirations, an adventurous spirit and most importantly, a lively, piercing intelligence. Comfort defined by an truly intimate relationship characterized by ease, trust and understanding.
The last great book I read Havana Noctourne, the true story of the mob in Cuba; The Lost City of Z, more non-fiction, the incredible tale of exploring the Amazon for a lost, "advanced" civilization, featuring tales of bugs, snakes, cannibals, man eating fish and other scary stuff. This is why I don't camp, even in California! Now reading the Walter Isaacson biography of Albert Einstein, with a couple of novels on deck...
Favorite on-screen sex scene The original "Swept Away." "Don't Look Now" was amazingly sensuous the first time I saw it, many years ago. The film itself doesn't really hold up now, but the memory of seeing it originally sure does. You'll have to ask me for others when I know you better.
The celebrity I resemble the most The brains of Bill Clinton and the looks of Brad Pitt
The best or worst lie I've ever told See above
If I could be anywhere right now A villa on Lake Como sipping great red wine.
Five items I can't live without My iPod with its 6, 000 songs A perfectly chilled Sapphire martini New York Times (especially the Crossword) Incredible food and wine Tivo
Fill in the blank: _____ is sexy; _____ is sexier. Physical attraction is sexy. A meeting of the minds is sexier.
In my bedroom one will find... I can't tell you that. You have to buy me dinner and send me flowers first.
